Reader prefers gospel over politics

Dear Editor,

I read in the local paper that a Thomson church is hosting a Chicago community organizer with "Organizing for America," a group based in the headquarters of the DNC, to promote and support the president's agenda.

The very first thing President Obama did after taking office was to reinstate U.S. funding for overseas abortions using our tax dollars. This is not an agenda that I, as a Christian can, nor will, support. I, also, find it difficult to understand this position embraced in the Bible Belt.

In reading my Bible, I cannot find any scripture advocating abortion. In fact the opposite is true; scripture forbids murder. And what else is the destroying of unborn life, but murder? Maybe some churches preach a different gospel than my King James Version, but I'll stand firm on mine.
