WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Albert Ellis Strother, of Warrenton, entered into rest May 15, 2009, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Sadie Connally Strother for 59 years.
Graveside services were held 4 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Revs. David Little and Tharon Connally officiating.
Mr. Strother, son of the late W.F. Strother and the late Gertrude Wilson Strother, was born on February 13, 1929, in Lincoln County. He lived in Warren County for many years. Mr. Strother was retired as the owner of Strother's Paint and Body in Thomson after 48 years of service. He was a member and served as a Deacon of Little Brier Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Strother was a charter member of the Kilpatrick Baptist Association Disaster Relief, former Director of Brotherhood for the Kilpatrick Baptist Association and was a Board member of Warren County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife: Sadie Connally Strother; sons: Lester Strother, and his wife, Joyce, Thomson; Bill Strother (Joyce), Warrenton; daughter: Kathy Strother Wells, and her husband, Lum, Warrenton; sisters: Lois Thornton and Eula Hawkins, both of Thomson, Rebecca Gobble, Washington; six grandchildren: Brian Adams (Angie), Jennifer Adams, Christy Strother Bikas (Thomas), Lisa Strother Howard (Billy), Bruce Strother (Lydia) and Adam Ivie (Cheryl); great-grandchildren: Kayla Adams, Madison Adams, Gavin Adams, Dalton Adams, Grace Howard, Sarah Howard, Sadie Howard, Tula Bikas, Aldon Ivie and Preston Ivie.
