MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Mrs. Doris Nell Jones Carrington, 82, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, at First United Methodist Church with burial at 3:30 p.m. at Rosehill Cemetery in Winder, Ga.
Mrs. Carrington was a native of Statham, Ga., but had made her home in Milledgeville. She was a retired executive secretary with Concord Fabrics and also did volunteer work for Oconee Regional Medical Center. She was also a member and longtime volunteer of the First United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of the late Joseph Allen Carrington.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Carrington (Cindy), of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Mike Carrington, of Thomson; daughter, Diane Harrison (Alex), of Newnan, Ga.; five grandchildren, Amanda Hendricks (Tim), of Richmond Hill, Ga., Katie Joyner (Greg), of Roswell, Ga., Jac Carrington (Bett), of Columbia, S.C., Taylor Carrington and Anna Carrington, both of Thomson, and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Jack Hendricks, of Richmond Hill, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oconee Regional Medical Center Health Care Foundation 821 N. Cobb St. Milledgeville, GA 31061.
Moores Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
