DEARING, Ga. - Mr. Lindsey Quarles, 77, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Doctors Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Quarles was a native of Lincoln County, but had lived in Dearing for many years. He was a retired heavy machine operator from Knox-Rivers Construction Company.
Survivors include his companion of 24 years, Mrs. Rosalie Heitzig, Dearing; three daughters, Lucy Polk, Lexington S.C., Linda Smith and Pam Turner, both of Lincolnton; two sons, John Quarles, Dearing and Len Quarles, Lincolnton; two sisters, Rachel Quarles, Lincolnton, and May Banks, Savannah, Tenn.; and three brothers, Harvey Quarles, Glen Quarles, and Bobby Quarles, all of Lincolnton; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
