Mrs. Doris Story Chalker

WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Doris Story Chalker, 94, of Warrenton, entered into rest June 2, 2009, at University Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Homer Chalker for 59 years.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Dunaway officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Chalker was a native of Warren County, and was the daughter of the late Pinkston David Story and the late Alice Johnson Story Richards. She was the oldest of six siblings and the oldest living member of her family. Mrs. Chalker was retired as a seamstress from Thomson Company with more than 40 years of service. She was also the oldest member of Little Brier Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Chalker has left behind many beloved nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her very much. One of her favorite sayings was "hard work never hurt anyone, and I am living proof." She will be dearly missed by all of her loved ones.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Little Brier Creek Baptist Church c/o Julia Massey 3580 Mt. Pleasant Rd. Thomson, Ga. 30824.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
