HARLEM, Ga. - Funeral service for Mr. Johnny Dorsey, 63, of Harlem, was held on Friday, June 5, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Water Branch Baptist Church, Grovetown, with Rev. L. J. Tanksley serving as euologist. Interment was in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Dorsey, Harlem; three step-daughters, Ruth (Ray) Tate, Augusta, Christine (Ulysses) Curry, Harlem, and Linda G. Lee, Erie, Pa.; one step-son, Marvin (Annie) Lee, Harlem; one godson, Robert (Levonda) Bradshaw, Dearing; four brothers, Walter (Minnie) Dorsey, Jr., James Dorsey, Marion (Betty) Dorsey, and Flemming Dorsey, all of Dearing; six sisters, Helen Bell, Grovetown, Mary Boyd, Dearing, Mattie Ramsey, Rosie Raiford, Lorine(Eugene) Scott, Minister Louise (Eddie) Boyd, Sr., all of Harlem; four aunts, Mae Frances Burnett, Carrie Dunn, Leida Curtis, and Annie Maude Dunn, all of Harlem; two brothers-in-law, Allen (Carrie) Cartledge, Harlem, and Robert Cartledge, Columbia, SC; 14 step- grandchildren; 31 step-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
