DEARING, Ga. - Mr. Charley L. Walton, 70, beloved husband of Mrs. Eugenia "Genie" C. Walton, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, in the University Hospital.
A memorial service was held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Reese and Harold Gay officiating.
Mr. Walton was a native of Oconee Co. but had lived in Augusta and Dearing for many years. He was a retired plant manager for Inglett & Co. He was a member of the American Motorcyclist Association, the Harley owners group, and the local H.O.G. Chapter.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eugenia "Genie" C. Walton, Dearing; a son, Scott (Kim) Walton, Martinez; a daughter, Lynne (DeWayne) W. Piper, Boca Raton Fl.; a grandson, Ryan Piper; a granddaughter, Bailee Walton; several cousins; and a canine companion, Dusty.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
