Benton weds Brown in April ceremony at First Baptist

Brandi Nicole Benton and Charles Randolph Brown, Jr., were united in marriage at 5 p.m., April 25, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Thomson. Dr. James Ramsey officiated.

Brandi is the daughter of Mr. Larry C. Benton, of Siloam, Ga., and Ms. Carolyn S. Benton, of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Curtis Newton Stephens and the late Mrs. Mollie McNeal Stephens, of Pendergrass, Ga., the late Mr. Ted Benton, of Athens, Ga., and the late Mrs. Theda Morris Hale, of Colbert, Ga. She is a 2001 graduate of Thomson High School and a 2006 magna cum laude graduate of the Medical College of Georgia with a bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene. She is employed by Dr. William Jopling and Dr. Charles Brunson as a dental hygienist.

Chad is the son of Mr. Charles R. Brown, Sr., of Harlem, and Ms. Karen D. Phillips, of Dearing. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Sammy Eugene Phillips, of Dearing, and Mrs. Lynette S. Johnson, of Harlem, and Mr. Charles Huey Brown and the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Brown, of Harlem. He is a 1999 graduate of Briarwood Academy and is employed by Brown's Carpentry and Trim.

Given in marriage by her father, Brandi chose her friend, Mrs. Crystal Hadden Rabun, of Thomson, to serve as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Christal Benton Cole, of Dallas, Ga., and Ms. Misty Benton Miller, of Lincolnton, both sisters of the bride, Miss Barbara Mallory Barmore, of Thomson, and Mrs. Leslie Mason Rogers, of Harlem, both friends of the bride. Flower girls were Miss Caley Renee Cole, of Dallas, Ga., and Miss Breanna Dawn Miller, of Lincolnton, both nieces of the bride.

Chad chose his father to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Jonathan Aaron Phillips, of Thomson, cousin of the groom, Mr. Kirk Douglas Brown, of Harlem, uncle of the groom, Mr. Charles Nicholas Brown, of Langley, S.C., brother of the groom, and Mr. Austin Allen Phillips, of Thomson, cousin of the groom. Ring bearer was Landon Eugene Brown, of Grovetown, nephew of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Belle Meade Country Club in Thomson. The newlyweds honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The couple resides in Dearing.
