GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Gwenda "Gwen" W. Chalker, 52, wife of Jeffery Chalker, entered into rest Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Medical College of Georgia.
Funeral services were held at Magnolia Baptist Church Saturday, July 4, 2009, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Alex Williams and Adrian Burrell officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Gwen was a homemaker and loved gardening and her flowers. She was a member and faithfully attended Magnolia Baptist Church. She was also very active in the Relay for Life.
Gwen was preceded in death by her father, James Talmadge Gay, and her mother, Edna Hobbs Gay Dye Dobbins.
Survivors include her sons, Chris Kelley and Adam Kelley; step-daughter, Kim Reese; seven grandchildren, Luke, Shaun, Allyanna, Mikayla, Taliah, Josian, and Sarina; step-father, Melvin Dye; step-mother, Midge Gay; brother, Mike Dye; and two sisters, Lynn Norton and Janet Neal.
Pallbearers were Glenn Braddock, Curl Chalker, Ernie Kelley, Tony Kelley, Leonard Knotts, and Jeff Neal.
