GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Mildred Kelley Black, 78, entered into rest Thursday, July 2, 2009 at University Hospital in Augusta.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday at Jordan Chapel Church of God, Edgehill, Ga., with Rev. Elizabeth Williford and Rev. David Jones officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
A native of Jefferson County, she lived in Glascock County most of her life and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Mr. Robert N. Black; three daughters, Joann (Larry) Kitchens of Gibson, Charlene Hadden of Dearing, and Linda (James) Buffington of Thomson; five sons, Melvin Black of Gibson, Noah (Elaine) Black of Thomson, Vance (Shirley) Black of Cheyenne, Wyo., Jessie (Genivieve) Black of Gibson, and Ronnie (Lisa) Black of Gibson; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Sheppard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
