We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people of McDuffie County. We could never thank each and everyone who expressed so much love and concern for our family. Most of you know that Jay was seriously injured in a boating accident last month. He is making excellent progress and, God willing, should make a full and complete recovery.
We cannot put into words how thankful we are for the support this community has showed our family. It would be impossible to mention everyone because the list would be too long and we would not want to omit anyone. However, we do want everyone to know that your cards, prayers, food and kind words were deeply appreciated and we ask you to please keep Jay in your prayers.
He is doing well because of the fast-action of Scott Whittle and the entire police and rescue squad. The staff at McDuffie Regional Medical Center performed like true professionals and also caring family members. We really appreciated your excellent care and attention to detail. Dr. Yates and the emergency room staff, operating room staff and nursing staff went above and beyond the call of duty.
However, one person who made the ultimate difference was Dr. Joe Wills. He would say he was just doing his job, but our family knows better and will always be thankful for his skills and friendship.
We are really blessed to live in a community like Thomson where neighbors really do care about each other. We also want to thank the staff at The McDuffie Mirror for their sensitive coverage of such a difficult event. Again, thank you - McDuffie County for your care and concern.
