THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral service for Mr. Willie Roy Ramsey, 59, of Thomson, was held on Monday, July 13, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Appling, with Rev. F.C. Henderson officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his father, Daniel Ramsey, Sr., Thomson; a son, Garlando (Karen) Ramsey; a daughter, Kristinn Ramsey, all of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Brice Ramsey, and Bailey Ramsey, both of Atlanta; seven brothers, Rev. Daniel (Patricia) Ramsey, Gary (Theretha) Ramsey, all of Thomson; Rev. Robert L. (Joyce) Ramsey, Jesse Ramsey, all of Evans, John David Ramsey, Leon Ramsey, both of Augusta, Derra (Lisa) Ramsey, Columbia, S.C.; three sisters, Rosie (Joseph) Scott, Shirley (Willie) Smalley, all of Thomson, and Linda (David) Rogers, of Evans; an uncle, John Ramsey, Philadelphia, Penn.; four aunts, Naomi Fountain, Mesena, Alice Ramsey, Thomson, Emma Mae Hicks, and Ethel Hickson, both of Philadelphia, Penn.; a devoted and caring friend, Jeannie Simmons (family), Thomson; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
