Mr. L. C. Carter

THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral service for Mr. L. C. Carter, 75, of Thomson, was held on Sunday, August 2, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, with Rev. Henderson Roberson, Jr., officiating. Interment was in Society Cemetery in Mesena.

Survivors include four daughters: Mamie Thomas, Judie Carter, and Cindy Ritley, all of Thomson, and Laura Carter, Washington; one adopted daughter, Linda Buskey, Thomson; sons: Ronnie Carter, Thomson; and John Carter, Pelham; three aunts: Carrie Bell (Garnsy) Grissom, Mesena; Verna Mae Embry, Thomson; and Annie Kate Allen of Columbus, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five children he reared as his own: Annie Mae Clemons, Jean Williams, Tracy Hester, and Annette Lazenby, all of Thomson; and John Henry Harden, Grovetown; six devoted friends: Emma Beard, Charles West, Sr., Ruby Walker, Johnny B. Swain, David Williams, and Robert Hall, all of Thomson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
