THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Chris Pelly, 57 of Thomson, entered into rest August 14, 2009, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Janet Pelly.
Memorial Celebration services were held 11 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2009, at The Old Frontier with Chris Smith officiating. Mr. Pelly was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and has lived in Thomson for the past 11 years. He was the son of the late Daniel Pelly and Regina Grimaldi Pelly. Mr. Pelly was the Public Works director for McDuffie County and participated in Leadership McDuffie. He received the Vice Chairperson of the Year award in 2004 from the Georgia Utilities Council. Mr. Pelly was also a charter member of the Old Frontier and Cowboy Church where he served as an outreach minister.
Survivors include his wife: Janet Luke Pelly, Thomson; son: Christopher Daniel Pelly, Thomson; daughter: Dena Elizabeth Pelly, Thomson; mother: Regina Grimaldi Pelly, Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; brother: Bruce V. Pelly, Royal Palm Beach, FL; mother- in-law: Hazel Young, Thomson; brothers-in-law: Wesley Young and Gordon Young, Thomson; sister-in-law: Kathy Pelly. Additional survivors include: Susan Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a Special Account to benefit his children at Citizens Bank, 134 Main Street, Thomson, GA 30824.
