EVANS, Ga. - Mr. Robert Carl Burchfield, 62, entered into rest August 21, 2009.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Robert Birchfield officiating with full military honors accorded. Entombment was in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Mr. Burchfield was born in Bryson City, N.C., to the late Clarence and Bertha Birchfield and had retired from the United States Army having served in Korea. He was also a retired truck driver and a Baptist.
Survivors include his son, Derrick Burchfield, Grovetown; two brothers, Clayton Birchfield, Ft. White, Fla., and Manuel Birchfield, Charleston, S.C.; three sisters, Debra Barron, Judy Hendricks both of Bossier City, La., and Pat Saylor, of Sanford, Fla.; and two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were members of the military.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
