A 40-year-old Thomson man is being held in the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center on sex-related crimes involving children after about a seven-month investigation by a state law enforcement agency.
Gary Nicholson, special agent in charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 7 Office in Thomson, identified the suspect as Richard Lowe, of the 300 block of Anderson Avenue. Mr. Lowe was recently taken into custody based on DNA evidence and charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of incest, Agent Nicholson said.
"We'd been working the case since Jan. 12 of this year," Agent Nicholson said during an interview with The McDuffie Mirror last Friday. "We've put a lot of work into this case."
Special Agent Steven Foster was the case agent and served the warrants on Mr. Lowe.
