LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mr. Wylie A. "Fella" Dallas, 63, died Wed., Sept. 9, 2009 at University Hospital, Augusta.
Funeral services were held Fri., Sept. 11, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Goshen Baptist Church with Revs. Robert D. Adams and Paul C. Reviere officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Al Dallas, Richard Butler, Neal Jones, Tommy Cunningham, Jimmy Cunningham, Lynn Thackston, Stanley Dallas, Mike Frazier and Page Prater II served as pallbearers.
Mr. Dallas, son of the late Wylie and Marjorie Kennedy Dallas, was born in Wilkes County but had lived in Lincoln County all of his life.. He was a retired foreman from Martin Fireproofing. A devout Christian, Mr. Dallas was a member of Goshen Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon, Sunday School superintendent, and Sunday School teacher. He was a devoted husband of 42 years, father and grandfather who loved hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deidra.
Survivors include his wife: Florence Brown Dallas, daughter: Meredith D. Brooks, grandson: Dallas Brooks, all of Lincolnton; brother: Albert H. "Buddy" Dallas, Gibson.
