The Garden Study Club of Thomson met Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the beautiful home of Mr. Jim Usry on Milledge Street.
Delicious refreshments were served by Carolyn Smith, Anna Willenford and Maggie Zieger after which the host conducted club members on a tour of his lovely home, pointing out many interesting facts in each room. The Usry house was built about 1765 and is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens.
A short business meeting began with a devotional by Mildred Wright. President Carolyn Smith gave out new information for this year's meetings and Maggie Zieger, program chairman, discussed plans for future meetings and gardening tips.
Members enjoying the occasion were Jeannette Coleman, Millie Holbrook, Marsha Hughes, Carolyn Smith, Margaret Thompson, Carol Ward, Anna Willenford, Joan Wiseman, Mildred Wright and Maggie Zieger.
The October meeting will be held in the home of Marsha Hughes.
