Mrs. Beth Pittman

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Beth Pittman, wife of the late Thomas Stanley Pittman Sr., entered into rest Monday, September 14, 2009.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 17, 2009, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Rev. Tony Henderson officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Pittman was a native of Jefferson County, Ga., and daughter of the late Moses L. and Corine Wren Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Bayvale Baptist Church and had attended Warren Baptist Church, Clifford Presbyterian Church and the Chiera Sunday School Class. Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Alayne Pittman.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Tony W. Pittman of Augusta, Thomas S. 'Stan' Pittman Jr. and Jeanette Pittman of Beech Island, S.C., and Toby J. Pittman Sr., and Diane Pittman of Grovetown; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Chiera of Evans; grandchildren, Jamie Pittman, Thomas Stanley Pittman III, Nickalas Pittman, Rebecca Jarvis, Hollie Chinn, Hillary Pittman, Haley Pittman, Courtney Neibel, Toby Justin Pittman, Jr., Alex Brassell and Matthew Chiera and 17 great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Billie W. and Lorena Johnson of Thomson; her sister, Barbara Ann Johnson, Atlanta.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Jamie Pittman, Thomas Stanley Pittman III, Nickalas Pittman, Justin Pittman, Alex Brassell, Matthew Chiera and Grant Neibel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd. S.W., Suite 202C, Atlanta, Ga. 30047.

Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
