Registration will begin Sept. 23 and end Sept. 30. The cost for registering is $35.

Lady Bulldogs win meet

The Lady Bulldogs of Thomson High School captured first place in a three-way Cross Country meet last Wednesday. The boys' team finished second, just five points off the winning margin, according to Thomson coach Miranda Murphey.

In the girls' meet, Thomson was led by Heleigh Gill, who finished first, followed by teammate Anne Schiffner, who came in second.

Like the boys, the Lady Bulldogs competed against a pair of Class A opponents -- the Warren County Screaming Devils and the Washington-Wilkes Tigers.

Thomson's boys' team was paced by Antoine West, who finished the race first. Overall, the Bulldogs tallied 33 points -- just five points off the winning mark.

Thomson's next Cross Country meet was scheduled for Thursday in Washington against Washington-Wilkes.
