WARRENTON - Authorities are searching for an elderly Warren County man.
More than a dozen volunteer firefighters searched areas in two counties on Saturday in search of 75-year-old Bill Smith, of Warrenton, according to Warren County Emergency Management Agency Capt. Suzanne Warkentin.
Mr. Smith, who is an Alzheimer's patient, has been missing since 10 a.m. Saturday. He is described as a white male, standing approximately 5-foot-8-inches tall and weighing 190 pounds.
Capt. Warkentin said searches had been conducted on various roads throughout Warren County, but that authorities still had not turned up any trace of Mr. Smith as of 7 p.m. Saturday night. Searches also have been made in neighboring McDuffie County.
He is believed to be driving a 2008 Ford Explorer, maroon and silver in color. The vehicle bares a Warren County license plate of AJB 9222. He last was seen driving the vehicle eastbound on U.S. Highway 278 towards Thomson.
