THOMSON, Ga. - Graveside service for Mr. Eugene "Meat" Jones Sr., age 63, of Thomson was held on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson, with the Rev. Johnnie Hunter, officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Howard Jones, Thomson; two daughters, Melanie Jones, Charlotte, N.C., and Jennifer Lampkin, Thomson; one son, Eugene Jones Jr., Thomson; one son-in-law, Randy Lampkin, Thomson; three grandchildren, Samuel Lampkin, Farien Lampkin and Jillian Lampkin, all of Thomson; mother, Sarah Jenkins, Thomson; eight sisters, Mary Culpepper and Carolyn (Melvin) Harris, both of Thomson; Sarah (Solomon) Noble, Stone Mountain, Ga.; Samantha (Chas) Catchings, Conyers, Ga.; Ann (Ronald) Glenn, Prattville, Ala.; Pecola Wiley, Beatrice Willingham, and Geraldine Sturgis, all of Thomson; four brothers, Roger (Sarah) Jones, Otis (Valecia) Jenkins III, Thomson; Colen Jones, Clarksville, Tenn.; and Edwin Jenkins, Augusta; two caring sisters-in-law, Margaret (Gene) Thomas and Patsy Jones, both of Thomson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
