DEARING, Ga. - Funeral services for Deacon Earl Collins, Sr., 59, of Dearing, were held on Monday, October 19, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. F.D. Favors officiating. Interment was in Westview Cemetery in Thomson.
Survivors include his wife, Sally B. Collins, of Dearing; three daughters, Ereika (Courtland) Stimley, of Atlanta, Kayce Collins, of Dearing, and Kharonda Collins, of Thomson; one son, Joseph Earl Collins, of Dearing; a step-son, Earl (Yalonda) Collins, Jr., 10 grandchildren; his mother, Queen Collins, of Thomson; three brothers, Herbert (Tina) Collins, Jr., Willie Albert (Bennie Mae) Collins, all of Thomson, and Lorenzo (Sylvia) Collins, of Augusta; cousin, Eddie (Lillie) Curry, of Thomson; six sisters-in-law, Fran Boyd, Pauline Boyd, both of Dearing, Polly (Lawson) Hopkins, Sr., Mary Boyd, Penny Boyd, all of Washington, D.C., and Barbara Boyd, of Dearing; one brother-in-law, George (Gloria) Boyd, of Dearing; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other cousins, and special friends.
Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
