McDuffie County will award two scholarships of $1200 each to two high school seniors who are planning to pursue a degree in agriculture or family and consumer sciences.
Students are eligible to submit an application if they, a parent or legal guardian were a member of Farm Bureau as of Sept. 1. Applicants must plan to enter a unit of the University System of Georgia or Berry College during the 2009-2010 academic year to pursue an undergraduate degree in agricultural and environmental sciences, family and consumer sciences, or a related agricultural field.
Applications must be submitted by Feb. 5.
"I would like to encourage any of our local high school seniors who are interested to consider applying for the Farm Bureau Scholarship," said Bob Farr, president of the McDuffie County Farm Bureau.
Please contact the Farm Bureau at (706) 595-1756 for more information or for an application. All scholarships must be approved and signed by the Farm Bureau president of the county where the membership is held.
"We welcome the opportunity to assist our state's future agriculture leaders in continuing their education," said Avis McGahee, Women's Committee chair in McDuffie County.
