Thomson Garden Club meets among Halloween decorations

Ghosts, goblins and witches welcomed members of the Thomson Garden Study Club to the home of Marsha Hughes and her husband, John Perryman.

Refreshments were served on tables grouped in front of a restful fire on the deck. Hostesses were Marsha Hughes and Maggie Zieger.

Mildred Wright presented a devotional and prayer before the business meeting conducted by Joan Wiseman, co-president. Mildred Wright read minutes from the September meeting and gave the treasurer's report in the absence of Carol Ward. Timely gardening tips were offered by Maggie Zieger.

After the meeting, Marsha gave a tour of her home, which she loves to decorate for each season and holiday. Club members enjoyed seeing creatures of Halloween and hearing stories and origins of the decorations.

Enjoying the occasion were: Maggie Zieger, Joan Wiseman, Mildred Wright, Anna Williford, Margaret Thompson, Carolyn Smith, Maggie McDaniel, Louise McCommons, Marsha Hughes, Millie Holbrook, Mary Frances Gibson and Jeannette Coleman.
