Brown, Farmer engaged

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wesley Brown of Thomson are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Christine Brown, to Mr. Kevin Glen Farmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Glen Farmer of Valdosta.

The wedding is planned for March 6, 2010, at Gin Creek Plantation in Hartsfield, Ga.

Miss Brown is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jane B. Hawes of Augusta and Ret. Col. Richard E. Hawes of Athens and Mrs. G.W. Brown, Jr. of Thomson and the late Mr. Brown.

Miss Brown is a 1998 graduate of Thomson High School and a Cum Laude graduate of Valdosta State University where she received a bachelor of fine arts with an emphasis in interior design in 2003. While at VSU, Miss Brown was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She is employed as a property manager with Ambling Management Companies in Valdosta.

Mr. Farmer is the grandson of Mrs. Harris Dees of Valdosta and the late Mr. Dees and the late Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Farmer.

A graduate of Lowndes High School and Abraham Baldwin Regional Police Academy, Mr. Farmer will receive his bachelor of business administration degree with an emphasis in accounting in May 2010 from Valdosta State University. While at Valdosta State, Mr. Farmer has been a member of Beta Alpha Psi honor society. Mr. Farmer will intern with Henderson & Godbee, LLP of Valdosta after the first of the year. He is currently self-employed.
