For the fourth consecutive year, The McDuffie Mirror will serve as the legal organ of Thomson, Dearing and McDuffie County.
The weekly newspaper, a Morris Communications publication, which has served such status for the past three years, will serve in that same capacity in 2010.
Todd Rainwater, who became the new publisher/editor of The McDuffie Mirror earlier this year, says he's delighted to have received such news.
"I feel this compliments the excellent job Jason Smith did in securing the legal status four years ago. Janet Wells continues to do an excellent job, making sure all legal advertisements are run when they should be," Mr. Rainwater said in a prepared statement.
He said the newspaper will continue striving to serve government officials and its readers with the highest integrity and professionalism possible. He added that readers can look forward to continued local news coverage from award-winning journalists. Aside from local news coverage involving government meetings, education, community and human interest pieces, the newspaper also will offer in-depth investigative stories from time to time.
And for readers interested in prep sports at Thomson High School, Warren County High School and Briarwood Academy, The Mirror is the source to turn to every week. Aside from game coverage, individual profiles of student-athletes also are featured on a regular basis.
