That's the best way to describe the Warren County High Screaming Devils' latest defeat on the basketball court, as they dropped a 74-72 overtime game to the Greene County Tigers last Friday night.
Warren County, now 5-5, is gearing up now to play Lucy Laney's Wildcats on Monday in the Annual Evans Christmas Tournament.
The Screaming Devils rallied to outscore the Tigers 28-16 in the fourth period to send the game in overtime. During that four-minute period, the Screaming Devils got outscored 10-8 -- the two-point difference being the deciding factor.
The Warren County duo of Dominique Menchaca and Stanley Johnson hooped in five three-point shots each, while Tay Erwin added one, too.
Johnson finished with a season-high 20 points, while Menchaca had 17. Erwin, meanwhile, scored 8. Other players scoring in that game for Warren County were: Dondracus Dozier, 10, Darius Jenkins, 4, Cameron Bolton, 4, Jacques Moss, 3, Ed'Ricus Williams, 2 and Alonzo Benton, 1.
