GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mr. Thomas Knox (Tom) Stafford, 61, husband of Daphne Reville Stafford, entered into rest at his residence, Sunday, January 10, 2010. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Marshall Baptist Church with the Rev. John Prater officiating. Interment followed in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with full military honors accorded.
Mr. Stafford was born in Memphis, Tennessee and was a lifetime resident of Grovetown. He was a graduate of Harlem High School, ABAC, Tifton, Ga. and ASU, Augusta. He had retired after 32 years at International Paper. He was a Marine veteran and a Purple Heart recipient as well as the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Combat Action and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederate, Brig Gen E Ports Camp Alexander.He was also a member of the Marshall Baptist Church and the Men's Two Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife Daphne R. Stafford; three sons, Barrett Stafford, Augusta, Matthew Reville and Michael Reville of Grovetown; one sister Mary Ann Reid, Thomson; and many nieces and nephews and his beloved animals.
