Mrs. Margie Brown Newman

THOMSON, Ga. Mrs. Margie Brown Newman, 72, was
called home by our Lord and Savior Saturday, January 16, 2010,
at the McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Thomson. A home
going service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2010, at
Norris Chapel Holiness Church with the Rev. Jimmy Richardson
officiating. Interment followed in the Plum Branch Cemetery, Plum
Branch, SC.
Mrs. Newman was a native of Plum Branch, South Carolina and
resided in Thomson. She was a member of Norris Chapel Holiness
Church, loved Southern Gospel music, her family and church
family.
Survivors include daughter, Debra (Jimmy) Williams, Thomson;
two sons, William (Kim) Newman, Salisbury, NC and Billy Joe
(Glenda) Newman, Harlem; brother, Joe Brown, Thomson; two
sisters, Helen Wallace, Appling and Edna Wallace, Harlem; four
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a large extended family
of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her
husband and life companion, William S. Newman, Sr. and two
daughters, Patricia A. Newman and Seretha L. Newman.
Pallbearers were Freddie Brannon, Bill Hearn, Tony Wallace,
Bobbie Wallace, Clevy Wallace, Calvin Leggett, Jimmy Williams,
Jr. and Timothy Thayer.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
