Mr. Charles Boyd Miller

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Charles Boyd Miller, 93,
of Augusta, died Monday, January 11 at Doctor's
Hospital.
Mr. Miller was born September 29, 1916 in
Screven County to Joel Hurt Miller and Leila Belle
Morris Miller. He had retired from the IRS after 39
years of service. During his career he was located in
Washington, DC; Tallahassee, FL; Atlanta; the US
Embassy in Panama and in Jamaica. He received his undergraduate
degree in accounting and graduated from Woodrow Wilson College
of Law, Atlanta in 1960. He was a member of the Sigma Delta Kappa
Law Fraternity. He was a WWII veteran serving in France, Germany,
the Philippines and Japan. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club.
Before moving to Augusta he was a long time member of Peachtree
Road UMC where he served as a Sunday school teacher and church
treasurer. When they moved to Augusta in 1992, they became
members of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church where he
served as an usher.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances Ivey Miller and
several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by
his son, Charles Raney Miller.
Memorials may be made to the Nehemiah Project at Trinity on
the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Avenue,
Augusta, GA 30904.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date at Westview
Cemetery in Thomson.
