WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Thomson High Lady Bulldogs' head basketball coach Michael Williams would have liked it much better had his team been able to garner a pair of Region 3-AAA victories last weekend.
But what he wanted and got were two different things.
His team managed to pull off a 40-31 win over the visiting West Laurens Lady Raiders Friday night at the Dog House in Thomson.
Unfortunately, the Lady Bulldogs didn't have that sort of luck when they traveled to Waynesboro to take on the Lady Bears of Burke County on Saturday night. Thomson ended up losing 50-42.
Against West Laurens, Williams was happy with the way his team performed.
"We played another complete game," Williams said. "And when we do, we have success. We played good, defensively. We played a front post and boxed out well."
Williams also expressed pleasure with the way his team played, offensively.
"We didn't rush our shots," Williams added.
In the game against Burke County, it was a little different story. Thomson made several costly turnovers, which came back to haunt them.
"We anticipated what they were going to do, but we didn't follow through," Williams said. "We couldn't stop their penetration."
