Thomson Health treats activities coordinators to fun and games

The activities department at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation recently got a dose of their own medicine.

They were treated with gifts and appreciation from associates, residents and residents' families throughout Activities Professionals Week last week.

"We did get a little showering this year," said Activities Director Tamicka Franklin. "Activities directors always do for everybody else during their week. You know, like housekeepers week and dietary week. We organize the games and give out all the prizes."

Keeping true to the nature of their job, Ms. Franklin and Activities Assistant Shonda Huff reciprocated the appreciation.

Friday, the two donned pink wigs and pink accessories and walked throughout the facility, in every patient's room and to every station, and gave hugs and passed out chocolate kisses.

"The residents thought it was fun," Ms. Franklin said.

"We got a lot of laughs and a lot of finger-pointing."
