Mr. Samuel "Sam" Bernard Rabun

THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Samuel Bernard "Sam" Rabun, 78 of
Thomson, entered into rest January 21, 2010 at Thomson Health
and Rehabilitation. He was the beloved husband of Ollie Ruth
Dunham Rabun and the late Emmie Reese Rabun.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010
at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Don Widener offiaciating.
Interment followed in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Cato, Chad Widener, Ray Chester, Tony
Burnley, Roy Parkerson, Kevin Burnley and Eldridge Hillman.
Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Crutchfield, Jr., Tommy Johnson,
Curt McGahee, Jay Widener, Tommy Chapman and Carl Williams.
Mr. Rabun was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia
and was the son of the late Claude Rabun and the late Edna Wheeler
Rabun. He was an insurance representative and retired from Pet
Milk Corporation. Mr. Rabun was a member of Faith Baptist
Church. He also served as chairman of the Deacons of Faith Baptist
Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ollie Ruth Dunham Rabun of
Thomson; daughter, Tomora R. Deas of Thomson; sons, Bobby
Hadden and wife, Paula of Thomson, Billy Hadden and wife, Pam
of Thomson; grandchildren, April Hadden, Ron Deas; and several
nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
the Faith Baptist Youth Camp Fund, 1917 Kitchens Rd. S.W.
Thomson, Georgia 30824
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
