Mr. Percy E. Dozier
THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Percy E. Dozier, 91, widower of Mrs.
Mary Etta Dozier, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010, in the
McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, January 22, in the
Westview Cemetery with Dr. Jim Ramsey officiating.
Mr. Dozier was born in Eatonton, Ga., raised in Thomson and
left Thomson in 1935 for Virginia to work in the Newport News
shipyard. He returned in 1950 and went into business with his
bother, Richard Hawes Dozier at Dozier Plumbing and Electrical
Company. They were later joined by another brother, Thomas
Marion Dozier. He was an active member of Thomson First Baptist
Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the A.J.
Miller Masonic Lodge. He was an Army veteran of W.W. II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Etta McLean Dozier
and his brothers, Richard Hawes Dozier and Thomas Marion
Dozier.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Adelle Dozier Adams, Thomson;
his son, Bill (Connie) Dozier, Thomson; his daughter, India Anne
(Tommy) Goodyear, Thomson; his grandchildren, Jordan (Amanda)
Dozier, David Dozier, India Goodyear, Mary Heath Goodyear, and
McLean Goodyear; and several nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made to the Thomson First Baptist Church.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
