Invitation to make change

After the recent march honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 18, I was honored and proud to partake in an event that sent out a message loud and clear that we the people of Thomson-McDuffie are ready to move forward with change. A salute to you, Rev. Favors, for following a vision you had to bring the REAL men in our community together.

To you, Mayor Usry, for acknowledging that yes, we have come a long way, but, we still have a long way to go. May God bless all of the men, women and children that came out to support such a worthwhile occasion.

Now that we have acknowledged that we can come together and lock hand in hand of brotherly love.

Now that the seed of love, equality and justice for all has been planted, let us water this seed with blood, sweat and tears in making our community better.

I would like to start a community based organization called Reclaim 2010. This organization goal is to reclaim our community, our youth and provide safety and security for our elderly.

I am looking for REAL men and women that are willing to work in the community to help clean our community of crack cocaine, to clean up our streets and to create programs that can and will make a difference in our community.

Send me your name, address, telephone number, along with your e-mail to anybody2203@yahoo.com and tell me why you want to become a member.

James Taylor Jr.

Thomson
