WARRENTON, Ga. --- Six players scored in double digits to help lead the Warren County Screaming Devils past Taliaferro County 88-63 in basketball action last Friday night.
It was the second time this season that Warren County has beaten the neighboring school from Crawfordville.
The Screaming Devils were scheduled to have traveled to Augusta to take on the Aquinas Irish on Tuesday night. This Friday, Warren County will hit the road again -- taking on the Lincoln County Red Devils in back-to-back Region 7-A games.
In the game against Taliaferro County, Warren County was paced by five players in double-figures. They included: Jacquez Moss with 16 points, Dondracus Dozier, 14, Dominique Menchaca, 13, Stanley Johnson, 13, Tay Erwin, 12 and Darius Jenkins, 11.
Other players scoring points in that game for the Screaming Devils were Shaquille Thomas, 3, Greg Howard, 2, Alonzo Benton, 2, Cameron Bolton, 1 and Jabari Wilson, 1, respectively.
Warren County outscored their opponents in each of the four periods of the game. At halftime, the Screaming Devils held a 43-33 lead. They increased their lead to 20 points by outscoring Taliaferro County 24-14 in the third period.
The Screaming Devils put on a clinic of sorts in three-point shooting, as they connected on a dozen such goals. Menchaca led the field with four. He was followed by Johnson with 3 and Dozier with 2. Erwin, Moss and Thomas each scored one.
