Bulldogs set to close out lackluster season

DUBLIN, Ga. -- The Thomson High Bulldogs can only hope their basketball season gets much better during the upcoming Region 3-AAA Basketball Tournament that will be hosted Feb. 16-20 by West Laurens in Dublin.

The Dogs' success on the hardwood has been lackluster this season. In fact, it's the worst season ever under head coach Michael Thomas, who has been at Thomson since 1982.

Thomson suffered another setback when they fell to the West Laurens Raiders, 93-82 last Saturday night in Dublin.

The loss was Thomson's third straight to region opponents.

This Friday night, the Bulldogs will host their last home game of the season when they entertain the Burke County Bears. The Bears, one of the top teams in Region 3-AAA, defeated Thomson in a game played earlier this season in Waynesboro.

The Bulldogs will travel to Milledgeville on Saturday to play the Baldwin Braves in their regular season finalé.
