Lady Bulldogs take win over Lady Raiders

DUBLIN, Ga. -- The Lady Bulldogs of Thomson High School won another big basketball game last Saturday night.

Their latest Region 3-AAA victory came over the West Laurens Lady Raiders by a score of 48-35. It marked the second time this season that the Lady Bulldogs of head coach Michael Williams have defeated West Laurens. Back on Jan. 15, Thomson defeated West Laurens 40-31.

Thomson's latest win boosts their overall record to 10-14.

The Lady Bulldogs will play their last home game of the season when they host the Lady Bears of Burke County on Friday night. Then on Saturday night, they travel to Milledgeville to take on the Baldwin Lady Braves. Both contests this weekend are region games.

Coach Williams, who is in his second year at Thomson, is hoping his team can notch two more region wins, which would give them a better seed when the Region 3-AAA Basketball Tournament gets under way soon.

The tournament is slated for Feb. 16-20. It will be hosted by West Laurens in Dublin.

Complete coverage of Thomson's last two regular season games this weekend will be included in a story that will appear in next week's edition of The McDuffie Mirror .
