Mrs. Ruth Weaver Adkins
Bus Driver
THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Ruth Weaver Adkins, 66, of Thomson,
entered into rest February 10, 2010, at University Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010,
at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Smith, Rodney
Dunaway and Mark Blankenbeckler officiating. Interment followed at
Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Barry Crosby, Tommy Bailey, Ed DeLong, Rossie
Bryant, Kevin Prickett, Rodney Dunaway, Otis Freeman, James Bogle,
Shane Rimmey and Randy Taylor.
Mrs. Adkins was a native of McDuffie County and was the daughter
of Marcia Bailey Weaver and the late Garnett W. Weaver. She was
retired as a bus driver from the McDuffie County Board of Education
with 25 years of service. Mrs. Adkins was also a member of the Old
Frontier Church.
Survivors include her mother, Marcia Bailey Weaver of Dearing,
husband, Leon Adkins of Thomson, daughter, Cheryl Adkins, son,
William Murphy of Covington, brother, Allen Weaver of Lincolnton,
sister, Marilyn Freeman of Dearing, a number of nieces, nephews, great
nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
