Mr. Aristides 'Aris' Lindsey Hardin
WASHINGTON, Ga. - Aristides 'Aris' Lindsey Hardin, 65, ended
his short but valiant battle against lung and bone cancer and went home
to be with his Lord on February 24, 2010. He died at home surrounded
by loved ones. He was born November 27, 1944 in Columbia County,
Georgia to Eugenia Lindsey Hardin and Tom Robert Hardin, Sr.
In addition to his beloved wife, Brenda, he is survived by a son,
Aristides Lindsey Hardin Jr. (Tracey) and their children, Lindsey and
Sarah; and a daughter, Melanie June O'Connor (Jerome) and their
children, Jackson and Brittany all of Harlem. Sisters, June Norris
Spaulding of Appling and Rose Marie McNeill of Thomson, a brother,
Carlton Timothy "Timmy" Hardin of Appling, and an adoring greatniece,
Margaret Caroline Anderson of Thomson, also survive him.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Tom Robert Hardin,
Jr. and Ramsey Gerald Hardin and a sister, Mary Kathryn Hardin.
Aris served his country in the US Marines. He was a retired
ironworker and served his community well as a lieutenant on the City
of Washington police force. He was an avid fisherman.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at
3 p.m. at Damascus Baptist Church on Ridge Rd. in the Leah, Ga.
Community with the Rev. Joe Hester officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were police officers of the City of Washington.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
