Mrs. Brenda Key Thompson
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Brenda Key Thompson, 65, of Augusta,
passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 after a short stay in Thomson
Manor Nursing Facility.
Brenda was a Christian woman who loved her Lord and Savior and
family with all her heart. She was a member of New Horizon Church of
God. Brenda enjoyed her time at the nursing home, known as the life of
the party enjoying bingo, games and activities.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Elizabeth Key; three sons,
Robert Thompson of Augusta, D'Wayne (Tonya) Thompson of Macon,
Bruce Thompson of Macon; four sisters, Joyce (Bobby) Hadden of
Blythe, Estelle (Raymond) Fendley of Thomson, Annette (Keelin)
Irby of Augusta and Carolyn (David) Jones of Augusta; three brothers,
P. Curtis (Elaine) Key, Jr. of Panama City, FL, Daniel (Linda) Key of
Martinez, Joseph (Rosemary) Key of North Augusta, SC; and several
grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Knapp, father,
Postell C. Key, Sr and her oldest brother, John S. Key.
Funeral Services were held 2 p.m. Friday, New Horizon Church of
God with Pastors David Jones, Anthony Irby, James McCollum and
Floyd McComb officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial
Park.
Pallbearers were Tim Key, Wesley Jones, Frank Bedenbaugh, Harry
Cosnahan, Jr., Daniel Key and Brandon Key.
