Mr. Bennie C. Reid
MATTHEWS, Ga. - Mr. Bennie C. Reid, 74, loving husband to
Frances Reid and son of the late Mary and Brantley Reid, entered into
rest Monday, March 1, 2010 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at James Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m.
on Thursday, March 4, 2010 with Pastor Tommy Anderson officiating.
Interment followed in the Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bennie always worked hard to provide for his family and to collect
things, or as he put it, "add to my empire". After retiring, his favorite
pastime was fishing and cooking. But most of all, "Nandaddy" loved
to spend time with his family, savoring every moment with each of his
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly
missed.
His survivors include three children, Ponda (Keith) Pittman,
Stapleton Ga., Bonnie (Tommy) Wood, Martinez Ga., and Scott
(Michelle) Reid, Avera Ga.; a brother, Carlton Reid, Thomson; a sister,
Helen Peebles, Stapleton Ga.; eight grandchildren, Michelle McNeely,
Ryan Pittman, Denise Butler, Dana Milhouse, Trey Wood, Coty Wood,
Magon Casarez, and Storm Reid; five (5) great-grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Wade Brooks, Jeff Jones, Robert Jones, Kenneth
Smith, Mark Beckum and Larry Beckum.
