Miss Emily Christine Brown of Valdosta and Mr. Kevin Glen Farmer, also of Valdosta, exchanged vows on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 5 p.m., at Gin Creek Plantation in Hartsfield, Ga. The Rev. Dr. Robert C. Bowling officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wesley Brown of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jane Burch Hawes of Augusta and Retired Colonel Richard Ellington Hawes of Athens and Mrs. G.W. Brown of Thomson and the late Mr. G.W. Brown. Emily is a graduate of Valdosta State University and is employed by Ambling Management Companies as a property manager.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Glen Farmer of Valdosta. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Farmer and Mrs. Harris Dees of Valdosta and the late Mr. Harris Dees. Kevin will graduate in May from Valdosta State University with a degree in business administration.
Given in marriage by her parents, Emily chose her sister, Jane Brown Miller of Peachtree City to serve as her matron of honor. Christy Lee Gore of Macon was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristy Farmer Anderson of Valdosta, Crissy Simpson Barrett of Augusta, Kayla Ann Farmer and Kameron Marie Farmer, both from Valdosta, and Ashton Robin Whitaker of St. Simons Island.
The groom chose his father, Clifford Glen Farmer from Valdosta to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Jayson Blaine Anderson, Joshua Walker Carol, Michael Lee, Clyde Hunter Royal and Ariel Valdez, all from Valdosta and Paul Taylor Miller from Peachtree City. Kevin Jordan Farmer was junior groomsman and Drew Harris Anderson was ring bearer.
Scripture reader was Mrs. Robert Douglas Whitaker. Music was provided by Mrs. Robert Dennis Finnerty who played the keyboard and Miss Jessica Irons vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Galleria at Gin Creek. Music was provided by the Fabulous Classics from Valdosta.
The couple plans a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico in May and will reside in Valdosta.
