The bands of Thomson High, Thomson-McDuffie Junior High and Thomson Middle schools have something to strut about after their successful performances at the Georgia Music Educators Association District 10 Large Group Performance Evaluation recently.
"I'm just so proud of them; they worked hard," said Jessie Morlan, the director of bands at Thomson High School.
Mr. Morlan was out of town for military service through the month of February, and said Band Director Emme Hines rehearsed the bands during his absence and conducted all three bands at the evaluation.
"Ms. Hines did double duty and so I just want to give her a special congratulations and a job well done," Mr. Morlan said.
The ninth- through 12th-grade evaluations were held March 17-19 at Burke County High School. The seventh and eighth grade evaluations were held at Thomson Middle School on March 10-11.
