The Tri-County Retired Educators Association met Thursday, March 4, in the Georgia Room at White Columns Inn with 23 members and one visitor present.
Valerie Marshall called the meeting to order. Jan McTier presented the devotional followed by prayer.
Geraldine Reed, president-elect, introduced the speaker, Dr. Bill Sloan, executive director of Georgia Retired Educators Association, who brought greetings from his office and our fellow retirees.
He gave highlights of the work done this year and on the forthcoming state convention to be held in Macon May 4-6.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved and the treasurer's report given.
A note of thanks from Mrs. Betty Tutt, Area XII director, was read.
Applications for scholarship have been sent to Warrenton High School. No response as yet.
Suggested amendments to be made to the bylaws were adopted.
The location for the April 1 meeting will be at McDuffie-Thomson Junior High School at 10:30 a.m.
Door prizes were awarded and meeting adjourned.
