AUGUSTA, Ga. - Funeral service for Mr. John Henry "Shed"
Hamilton, 95, of Augusta, was held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at
11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lincolnton, Pastor, Rev. Robert
Crawford, presiding, and Evangelist Mary James, eulogist. Interment
was in the Church Cemetery.
Survivors: wife, Julia Hamilton, Augusta; one sister, Hattie Bell
Huds, Atlanta; seven children: four daughters, Billy Faye Butler, Diane
(Sammy) Butler, both of Thomson, Brenda (James) Germany, Harlem,
and Amy Ruth Hamilton, of Miami, FL, three sons, Kenneth (Eleanor)
Hamilton, Thomson, Minister Donald (Linda) Gilmore, Mesena, and
Bennie Hamilton, Miami, FL; three step-daughters, D'Lynn (Samuel)
McCray, Coconut Creek, FL, Evangelist Mary James, Atlanta, Deborah
(Felix) Solice, Oakland Park, FL; three step-sons, John McCord,
Aiken, SC, Eddie Moore, Thomson, Tommie Moore, Fort Lauderdale,
FL; five sisters-in-law, Fannie Baker, Thomson, Evelyn (Gerald)
Thomas, Thomson, Mattie (Eugene) Scott, Grovetown, Ethel Hudson,
Grovetown, and Bertha McCord, Atlanta; four brothers-in-law, Willie
McCord, Dearing, Larry (Nancy) McCord, Jacksonville, FL, William
McCord, Atlanta, and John Carter, Thomson; 50 grandchildren; 55
great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
