THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. James Harold 'Jack' Moore, 82, of Thomson,
entered into rest March 28, 2010.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2010
at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Steve Atchley officiating.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Carter, Tim Lewis, Winnard Chalker, Dexter
Lovins, Wendell Amerson and Ron Haley.
Mr. Moore was born in Harlem, but lived in Thomson most of his
life. He was the son of the late Forest M. Moore, Sr. and the late Annie
Frances Smith Moore. Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Navy during World
War II as a Yeoman Third Class. He was a punter for the U. S. Navy
Football Team and the University of Georgia Football Team during the
late 40's. He also retired from BellSouth with 33 years of service. Mr.
Moore was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Lynda Moore Fowler of Martinez; son,
Gary Moore and wife, Louise of Thomson, and two grandchildren, Ryan
Price and Jamey Moore.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
