Girls soccer team still seeks 1st win

Another weekend has passed. And still the Lady Bulldogs of Thomson High School haven't been able to muster a win in Region 3-AAA soccer play this season.

They lost two more games this past weekend -- one of which was a heartbreaking 1-0 loss at the hands of the Liberty County Lady Panthers in Hinesville last Friday night.

The latest loss was to the Washington County Lady Golden Hawks of Sandersville at the Thomson field last Saturday. Once again, the Lady Bulldogs lost by a goal.

The Lady Bulldogs don't have any games scheduled this week. The team is enjoying Spring break.

However, all of that will change next week when they play four games. The first game will be against Cross Creek on April 12. That game, like the one against Richmond Academy on April 15, will be played at the Thomson field. The other two games will be played against West Laurens in Dublin on April 16 and Baldwin in Milledgeville on April 17.

Thomson was supposed to have ended the regular season with a game against Jefferson County's Lady Warriors, but that game was forfeited by Jefferson County, just like the one earlier slated against them.

The Region 3-AAA tournament will get underway later this month -- a time when Thomson hopes to do much better against region foes.
