THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Helen Dupree Hillman, 66, of Thomson,
died, Sunday, April 11, 2010, in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center
due to her battle with cancer.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, in the Reedy
Creek Baptist Church with Rev. John Jenkins officiating. Burial was in
the Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
A living angel performing her duties as a mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother. Mrs. Hillman was the daughter of Claude and Lois
Dupree. She was born and raised in Jefferson County and spent most
of her childhood there. Mrs. Hillman worked the majority of her life
at Thomson Company, and Stapleton Garment where she retired. After
retirement she decided to get her GED, and attend Augusta Technical
College. She was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church where she
loved her church family.
Mrs. Hillman was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Dupree.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly (Joe) Gunby, Thomson; her four
sons, Gary (Patsy) Hillman, Gibson; Randy Hillman, Tony Hillman,
and Scotty Hillman, all of Thomson; her two brothers, Wayne Dupree,
Thomson; Bobby (Bud) Dupree, Gibson; and her seven grandchildren,
and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were members of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Honorary
pallbearers were members of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
